Balls Creek Lions Club

The Balls Creek Lions Club members have their own building and can rent it out to the community for events when they are not using it for club meetings. The funds they make on rent goes towards their various community service projects. Members of the club in a partnership with Mt. Ruhama Baptist Church in Maiden, NC assist in sponsoring a clothes closet for the needy in their community. What started as a small collection of clothing has now blossomed into a full fledge ministry to include food donations. If you live in the Balls Creek community, this club will welcome you as a volunteer!

Claremont Lions Club

The Claremont Lions Club are involved in numerous service projects including
Meals on Wheels, Senior Morning Out, a half-day program for persons 60 or older who live in Catawba County, Corner Table/Backpack Food Program, Project Warmth in partnership with the Salvation Army and Veterans Stand Down with free services available to veterans including medical care, dental needs, blood pressure checks, vision care, and employment resources. Club members sponsor community vision screenings, support Special Olympics, and stock blessing boxes in three Catawba County locations. If you live in the Claremont community, this club will welcome you as a volunteer!

Conover Lion Club

The Conover Lions Club serves their community by hosting free events for the public to enjoy, many include live music, dancing, and BBQs at the Conover community center pavilion as well as holiday festivals for the kids to enjoy. Club members provide medical equipment for use by community members in need, host blood drives, and some members even drive medical transplant donations to area hospitals. Each year the Conover Lions grant scholarships for higher education to the High School grads in their community. If you live in the Conover community, this club will welcome you as a volunteer!

Long View Lions Club

The Long View Lions Club provides vision screenings throughout their community and when an individual or family's resources are limited, the Lions help them to obtain the glasses they need. Club members are part of the “Adopt the Street” program picking up trash along their local streets and byways and assisting the Salvation Army with their bell ringing kettle fund raising at Christmas just to name a few of their service activities. If you live in the Long View community, this club will welcome you as a volunteer!

Newton Lions Club

Community vision screenings are a top priority of the Newton Lions Club. Some of the club’s other service projects include assisting with a “head start program” for 60+ preschool children providing a comprehensive education program, full-time care for children in the program whose parents’ work.  The Newton Lions club hosts a picnic in the spring for those that are visually impaired in their community and each year the club also plans and pre-pares lunch on the grill at the annual Special Olympics Catawba County Spring Games. Sherrills Ford Lions Club

The Sherrills Ford Lions Club collect food, clothing and personal items for a local Christian pantry, Lakewood nursing home and Rosenwald School for troubled teens. Club members collect school supplies for Catawba Elementary School. During the holidays needy families enjoy full Thanksgiving turkey dinners compliments of the club, and a local families receive gifts and food items to make their Christmas brighter. Members of the club sponsor baby showers for the local pregnancy crisis center, community food drives and collect necessities for shelter animals. If you live in the Sherrills Ford community, this club will welcome you as a volunteer!

St. Stephens Lions Club

The Lions of Saint Stephens Lions Club are always ready to serve the citizens of Catawba County. Club members are available to volunteer for community-based programs addressing diabetes, childhood cancer, vision screenings, natural disaster aid, and assisting the hunger and shelter needs of the less fortunate.  If you live in the Saint Stephens community, this club will welcome you as a volunteer!

West Hickory VIP Lions Club

The West Hickory VIP Lions Club members sponsor vision screenings throughout the Catawba County community. Club members provide eyeglasses for those in need, volunteer at Special Olympics and provide scholarships to disabled college students, The club participates in the Catawba County Veterans Stand Down held every year. 200-300 military veterans attend the event for free medical services, vision screenings, clothes, and other needed items. If you live in the West Hickory community, this club will welcome you as a volunteer!
